Prostate cancer often develops without symptoms. Annual testing with PSA and DRE can catch it early — while it's still confined to the prostate and far more curable. That's the whole reason POP exists.
Founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Prostate On-Site Project operates two mobile screening units that travel the state of Arizona, making annual screenings easier and more convenient by coming to workplaces, health fairs, and community events — and helping reduce out-of-pocket costs for uninsured and under-insured men.

This program was responsible for the early detection of my prostate cancer. Nearly two years post-surgery, I'm cancer free. I highly recommend this screening.
My PSA was low; however Dr. Chan found an abnormality. Long story short, he probably saved my life by detecting this cancer in the very early stages. My da Vinci procedure was highly successful.
The screening showed my PSA had doubled in less than a year. A biopsy revealed prostate cancer. I've since had surgery with a very good prognosis. I encourage every man 40 and older to screen yearly.
